Dressing and changing the Romper
Sometimes the romper gets dirty. You can change it as follows:
-
Pause the blue light by pressing the blue Dual Light Pad icon on the Yellow Box screen. Then click the green checkmark. Turning off the lights is to protect your eyes when removing the romper. When the lights are paused, the Dual Light Pad icon is white, and the timer blinks.
-
You can now remove the romper by opening the fasteners at the top, bottom, and sides. Lift your baby out of the romper and place them in a safe, comfortable spot. Change the romper, for example, on a changing mat on the table, with another changing mat or play mat next to it. Ensure your baby stays warm during the process. Remove the Dual Light Pads from the romper by opening the white fabric at the top. You can now take the Dual Light Pads out of the romper.
-
Insert the Dual Light Pads into a clean romper, which a nurse can provide for you, ensuring the white side of the Dual Light Device is facing up. Make sure the yellow cable exits the romper at the correct spot: the notch under the right armpit. Place your baby on the clean romper and close it to dress them.
-
Turn the Dual Light Pad lights back on by pressing the Dual Light Pad icon. Check that the lights are on and that the lights are directed towards your baby's skin. You can see this at the armhole.
-
The dirty romper will not be washed by the hospital. You can keep it and wash it at home, if you like. This can be done by hand or in the washing machine on a normal cycle with warm water (a maximum of 104°F/40°C). After washing, check the romper for loose parts. Discard the romper if it is damaged.
